Summer in Teignmouth is a truly special experience and something we look forward to.
Flags flying on The Den and balloons bobbing above the crowd, to the sound of the carnival procession drifting up from the seafront, has been the backdrop to summer in Teignmouth every year for as long as we can remember.
And this year, our Complete team has been right in the middle of it!
We don’t just sell houses here. We live here, work here, and play here. Being based in Teignmouth makes us proud to be part of our local community – and that means something to us.
This summer has given us a number of amazing opportunities to put that into practice, and we have made the most of them.
From Teignmouth Carnival and Regatta Week to the upcoming Shaldon Regatta, supporting these events is not about turning every local occasion into a business opportunity.
It is much simpler than that. We enjoy being part of the town, meeting the people who make it what it is, and helping to support the events that bring everyone together.
Teignmouth Carnival Week
The summer celebrations got underway with Teignmouth Carnival Week in July.
Carnival Week is one of those events that manages to involve just about everyone. The week featured live music, stalls, activities on The Den and the much-loved carnival procession, while the funfair added to the traditional seaside atmosphere.
There was plenty going on throughout the week, too, from arts and crafts and community activities to live performances, cream teas and sea shanties, and a dedicated Services Day that brought local emergency services together with the community.
The highlight for many was the carnival procession, with local businesses, community groups and organisations taking part to create a colourful spectacle through the town.
It is exactly the kind of event that shows what a strong community Teignmouth has. People do not simply turn up to watch – they get involved, create decorations, organise activities and volunteer their time. That is something we are proud to be part of.
Regatta Week on The Den
Carnival Week was followed in August by another of Teignmouth’s great traditions – Regatta Week.
Teignmouth Regatta has been bringing the community together since 1773, making it one of the longest-running events in the town’s calendar, celebrating Teignmouth’s maritime heritage with activities on the water and across the seafront.
Our team was out on The Den for much of the week, handing out Complete flags and balloons to families enjoying the sunshine and taking in the atmosphere.
For us, being there was as much about enjoying that atmosphere as anything else, and a great reminder of why we enjoy working in Teignmouth.
Still to Come: Shaldon Regatta
Summer is not over yet! Shaldon Regatta takes place from 23 to 31 August, bringing nine days of activities to the beach and water on the other side of the estuary, with more than 140 events planned, making it another major fixture in the local summer calendar.
The programme includes a varied mix of traditional regatta events and family activities, from rowing, sailing and tug of war to rounders, volleyball, sandcastle competitions and the ever-popular duck race.
Shaldon Regatta brings together people from both sides of the estuary – a reminder of just how closely connected Teignmouth and Shaldon are, despite being separated by the water. We are looking forward to supporting the event and seeing the community come together once again.
Why Community Matters so Much to us
As an estate agency, we spend our working lives helping people move into, out of and around the local area.
But property is only one part of what makes a place a home. It is the people, the traditions, the events and the shared experiences that give a town its character, and Teignmouth has all of those things in abundance.

Getting out from behind the desk, meeting people on The Den, handing out a few flags and balloons – it is a small thing, but it matters to us.
“The team here is rooted in this town. We know these streets, these schools, these families. That is what drives us – not just to do a good job selling and letting properties, but to play a positive role in the place we call home.”
