There is a phrase we find ourselves coming back to often when people ask what makes Complete’s Teignmouth office tick.
We do not just sell houses here. We live here, work here, and play here.
Teignmouth is our community too – and that means something to us.
This Easter, we had the opportunity to put that into practice in a small but genuinely meaningful way.
We made a donation to the Friends of Teignmouth Primary School, contributing to a fund with a simple and lovely aim: to make sure every single child in the school received an Easter egg. The fund also raised money towards pupil enrichment opportunities – from pantomime visits to the creation of a new adventure playground.
We are pleased to say the goal was achieved. Every child got their egg.
Rebecca from the Friends of Teignmouth Primary School got in touch afterwards to say: “We just wanted to drop you a message to say a massive thank you for helping us achieve our goal of making every child smile at Easter. We couldn’t have done this without your generous support. Seeing the faces light up as we delivered them to each classroom was absolutely heartwarming.”
We also received a personal letter from Mr Marchant, the school’s Headteacher, along with a certificate recognising Complete as a Friend of Teignmouth Primary School – something we will be displaying in the office with great pride.
In his letter, Mr Marchant wrote: “I am writing to thank you for your kindness, support and generosity towards Teignmouth Primary School at Easter. Our school believes in being at the heart of the community, and it is always moving to see the community supporting our staff and pupils.
“Your donations enabled two things to happen. Firstly, every child in our school received an Easter Egg – this means more than you could imagine (especially as we have several families who cannot always afford such treats at home).
“Secondly, this helped to raise money in our school raffle towards enrichment opportunities for the pupils. From pantomime visits to creating a new adventure playground, the money raised by our community for the Friends of Teignmouth makes a huge difference. As a small token of our gratitude – and fittingly for a primary school! – I’ve attached a certificate of thanks.”
Dom Ungi, Branch Manager at Complete’s Teignmouth office, said: “This one really meant a lot to us. It is easy to talk about being part of the community, but moments like this are what it actually looks like in practice. Knowing that every child in that school had an Easter egg because of the generosity of local businesses and families – that is something worth being part of.
“We are very proud to be a Friend of Teignmouth Primary School and we look forward to continuing to support them. The team here is rooted in this town. We know these streets, these schools, these families. That is what drives us – not just to do a good job selling and letting properties, but to play a positive role in the place we call home.”
